Applications of
Scanning Probe Microscopy
STM/AFM 2012

Zakopane, November 28 - December 2, 2012

We have a great pleasure to announce you the 7th Workshop on Applications of Scanning Probe Microscopy - STM/AFM 2012 organized under the auspices of Nanostructure and Nanotechnology Division of the Polish Vacuum Society which will be held in Zakopane from Wednesday, November 28 to Sunday, December 2, 2012 in HYRNY Hotel. Seminar is organised by the Centre for Nanometer-scale Science and Advanced Materials NANOSAM, Centre of Excellence at the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Sciences, Jagiellonian University Krakow, Poland in co-operation with the MEASLINE Company (

Like at the previous meetings (STM/AFM 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010) the main goal of the Workshop is to gather scientists who are, or who would like to be involved in surface research with use of experimental techniques known under the common name of Scanning Probe Microscopy (SPM), such as: Scanning Tunneling Microscopy STM, Atomic Force Microscopy AFM, and others used either in ultra high vacuum environment, or in liquids and gaseous atmosphere. We wish the Seminar to be an interdisciplinary meeting for participants representing different theoretical and experimental disciplines of scientific research

At the last meeting STM/AFM 2010, we had 138 registered participants from 21 research institutions in Poland.

This year we count for even larger audience.

The following SPM companies were presenting their products:

AM Technologies
Atomic Force F&E GmbH
LABSOFT Biuro Techniczno-Handlowe
Soliton GmbH (Nanonics)
Schaefer Technologie GmbH
NanoAndMore GmbH
L.O.T.-Oriel GmbH

The Organizers would like to invite all interested companies to present their products (instruments) and marketing materials during the Workshop. We believe that close relationship between the producers and distributors of scientific equipment and the community of Workshop participants is of great importance to further development of nanotechnology and nanoscience in Poland.
There is a possibility for interested companies to choose from the following forms of participation:

  • exhibition of scientific equipment and/or display of brochures, books and other scientific papers (including distribution of marketing materials between Workshop participants) - fee of 1250 PLN (300 Euro) + 23% VAT (the above fee covers: the 6 m2 booth for exhibition of equipment/materials and posters, a table and two chairs and also the distribution of marketing materials between Workshop participants).
  • 20 min oral presentation during special technical session - 400PLN (100 Euro) + 23% VAT extra fee; (abstract needed by October 17, 2012)
